Lighted Dog Collars, Leashes, and Harnesses for After Dark

Lighted Dog Collars, Leashes, and Harnesses for After Dark

Why Lighted Dog Collars, Leashes, and Harnesses are the Secret Ingredient!

We need to discuss safety when it comes to our doggies, especially those of you who do night walking or dust walking.

Traffic in certain areas will have blind spots when it comes to your and your doggies even if they are wearing a reflective collar.

If you are not dressed in bright colors then you are going to be invisible to them as well.  What better way to keep you both safe at dust or in the darkness than a lighted collar or harness with a lighted leash?

Even having a lighted collar or harness on your doggie letting them out after dog is a great way to see them in the yard knowing exactly where they are.

Being a dog lover for so many years of my life this is one of the products that I had always hoped would come to the market.  It took years but they have finally arrived.

If you do not already have one of these to keep your doggie safe I suggest you get one as soon as possible they work well for walks and last time out after dark.

Please check statistics because they will amaze you 12% of fatal car injuries are pedestrians, that is a huge number of people.  Dogs are another story in the US alone approximately 1.2 million dogs are killed on the roads each year.

They are not broken down by daylight or darkness so we can only guess the percentages after dark.  Having lighted collars or harnesses on your dog gives them at least an advantage of drivers being able to see them.

I took the time to research the following collars, harnesses, and leashes. These are the ones that I would recommend you get for you and your doggie’s safety as soon as you can.

Lighted Harnesses for Doggies

Doing some research because I wanted to get my own dog’s new lighted collars and leashes theirs are wearing out I came across these new harnesses for your doggie in some very nice colors and sizes. They are available from Amazon making them very convenient to get keeping you and your doggie safe while taking that nightly walk.

Leashes that Light up the Night

I prefer a 6-foot leash when walking my dogs but I am sure others prefer other sizes this one I recommend here is a 6-foot leash but due to the way it lights up for nighttime walking I feel it provides the most safety (also with fog).

  1. I have 2 medium Dogs and love to go walking with them of an evening Susan and a couple of these led leads will be great so I’m off to go shopping and I think a blue one and a purple one will look so cure on each of the girls so thank you for sharing this information and all the best with your doggies

    • Vicki,

Right, I had lighted ones but they are nothing like these and I cannot wait until I can get mine the harnesses I have the collars.  I want the leashes to match the harnesses so that is my next shopping trip these are so amazing compared to the ones I have.

Thanks for visiting come back anytime,

  2. This is a great idea this season. I’ve been wondering what to give to my close friend’s puppy. This actually works around this time of year where daytime is so short. They mostly walk their dogs at night. Not only this is so cute, it’s a safety device as well. Thanks for sharing. Perfect gift idea for my friend.

    • Sheila,

These make great gifts for dog owners, not just keeping the dogs safe but the owners as well.  You are making a good choice for both your friends and the wonderful doggie they have.  Best wishes and happy holidays to you.

Thanks for visiting come back anytime,

  3. Lighted collars for doggies is a brilliant idea.  Number one reason being the safety of the pup and  the owner.  Other than safety, they look modern and trendy.  I remember when strobe headlights started hitting the markets for people.  Many people had been hit by vehicles while walking their dog and sustained serious injuries and even death.  This is MUST have for every dog owner.

    • Seriously, I have had a lighted leash for sometime now but it is older not near as nice as the new ones they have out now.  I have already gotten the collars they are great for nighttime when mine go out in the yard to keep track of them.  I am heading shopping for new leashes and the harnesses for mine because we love evening walks into the dark in the summer months where I live.

Thanks for visiting come back anytime,

      Susan
